Iku surface-mounted luminaires bring the diversity of architectural lighting to environments exposed to weather or special stresses: From bus terminals to indoor swimming pools, under cantilever roofs or in passageways. Surface-mounted installation also makes upgrading existing buildings simple and economical. With their precise, neutral shape, the cylindrical surface-mounted luminaires fit into any architectural context. They harmonise perfectly with the other luminaires in the extensive Iku family for lighting concepts that consistently combine interior and exterior. With Tunable White as an option, they allow for HCL designs that take all “three A’s” – activity, atmosphere, and architecture – equally into account. The extremely high level of visual comfort also minimises unwanted emissions into the night-time environment.
With four light distributions, Iku offers maximum design flexibility for outdoor spaces. Wallwashers evenly highlight vertical surfaces such as facades. Oval beam distribution is ideal for corridors and covered pathways. Two wide beam distributions provide excellent visual comfort for a range of applications. We refer to such lighting concepts as "AAA". Do you know what's behind it?
Iku downlights, offering up to 120lm/W, ensure superior efficiency for ambient lighting. Iku is the ideal choice for both new installations and refurbishments, adapting dynamically to your needs.
Iku luminaires are developed, tested and built for long-term operation over 75,000 hours. As a requirement, our ECO design standard specifies a minimum service life of 20 years for all newly developed luminaires.

Wallwash
For uniform vertical lighting, the distance to the wall (a) of Iku lens wallwashers should be around one third the room height (h).
Arrangement: a = 1/3 x h
For good longitudinal uniformity, the distance (d) of Iku lens wallwashers may be up to 1.3 times the distance to the wall (a).
Arrangement: d ≤ 1.3 x a

Oval flood
For linear arrangements and uniform lighting, the approximate distance (d) between two Iku downlights may be up to 1.5 times the height (h) of the luminaire above the working plane.
Arrangement: d ≤ 1.5 x h
Area of application: covered transport routes, such as railway stations and airports.
Wide beam, rotationally symmetrical light distribution for general lighting.

Wide flood
For uniform ambient lighting, the approximate distance (d) between two Iku downlights may be up to 1.5 times the height (h) of the luminaire above the working plane.
Arrangement: d ≤ 1.5 x h
The wall offset should be half the luminaire spacing.
Arrangement: a = d / 2

AAA stands for architecture, activity and atmosphere. For a representative impression of architecture, Iku makes vertical surfaces visible. Iku supports activities with good light, such as easy orientation at dusk. Iku creates the right atmosphere with the right light colours at any time of day, from outdoors to indoors. For us, this is what a high-quality lighting concept is all about.
Precise light distribution in outdoor spaces is crucial to fulfilling both functional and ecological requirements, such as "Dark Sky" guidelines. ERCO relies on lens technologies that minimise stray light. This is because scattered light contributes to light pollution, which not only disturbs the natural night-time rest of people and animals but also negatively impacts flora and fauna. Precise control of the light ensures that only the desired areas are illuminated without unnecessarily lighting up the sky. This protects the environment and also increases lighting efficiency by using energy in a targeted manner. ERCO lighting solutions therefore offer responsible use of light in outdoor spaces.
With the right lighting design, ERCO downlights enable further potential savings in investment and energy costs. Thanks to their differentiated light distributions, they allow larger luminaire spacing, which means fewer luminaires for the same area. A lower total connected load also leads to a lower "watts per square metre" consumption. This reduces acquisition, installation and maintenance costs.
The housing is made of corrosion-resistant material and is thus especially weatherproof. The no-rinse surface treatment ensures reduced dirt deposit. Iku luminaires have an IP65 protection rating, which means they are dustproof and protected against jets of water from all directions.
Tunable white offers the right light colour for every time of night, season and occasion. Coordinate your lighting concept with the interior: Iku indoor luminaires offer the same light colours and tunable white as Iku outdoor luminaires.
Thanks to the through-wiring option, luminaires do not have to be connected individually to the power source. This significantly reduces the installation process. Especially for projects with many downlights, this ensures efficient operation and leaves room for future expansion.
Precise alignment of the luminaire is particularly important for applications where special light distributions such as oval flood and wallwash are used. Iku downlights and wallwashers can therefore be rotated by +/- 10° on the mounting plate.
